What a difference a year makes
(or at least part of it)
One year ago today I started this blog as we embarked on this little project. It was originally scheduled to end at the end December 2007. Hopefully we'll be able to move in by March 2008. People who've done their own construction projects have been telling me to double the time and triple the budget. Right now we are only a few months over time. And I'm pretty sure we're coming in under budget -- right, Lee?? So I'd say we're ahead of the game.
Vinnie, Little Vinnie, and their team are as intrepid as the Red Sox. In spite of the rain they are out there building the wall, and it really looks great.

The lower level guest bath is almost all tiled now. Bob is just waiting for the shelf, the shower step and the threshold and he can finish it up and move on to the next one.

Matt, the other tile guy, was busy prepping the floor of the sundeck over the front door. Lee said they are going to make it as watertight as a stall shower. There will be the layer Matt is doing now, then a membrane, then mud, then tile. And somewhere in there will be coils to heat the floor and melt the snow that will go down the drain because this time it's all going to be pitched properly. No more water coming into the house unless it's invited in.

And the granite thresholds for all the exterior doors have arrived. Bill is installing them.
Maintenance free- yay!

And just for fun, here are a few 'then and now' photos :

We have made progress.
