Waiting for Christmas week to end
I guess it's hard to get people excited about working the week between Christmas and New Year's. The only ones we could count on to show up were the regular team. The floor guys disappeared for a few days and the well diggers have also gone missing.
But we are still forging ahead:
Vinnie's guys are almost done with the wall. They may not have enough stone to do the stairs, and the quarry which is up in Canada is closed for the winter so we may have to wait til spring to get it finished.

And a nice path has been cleared for the drillers who didn't come. Lee finally got hold of them and they promised they will be here either the Wednesday after New Year's or the following Monday. Any bets on which day it is?

I guess Lee also had a conversation with the floor guys and the promise is that they will be finished sanding and staining and first coat of urethane by Jan 4. And the 2nd coat will go on the following Monday. We'll see.
In the mean time Bob has come back to finish tiling Peter's bathroom.
And Andrew is back for a few days, looking a bit like a scary Mr Sandman.

And Kenny is finishing up the casings onthe windows so we can measure for window treatments.

Katelyn has been spending most of her time trying to get stains to match in the old fir, the new fir and the old oak in the living room. Every time I saw her last week she was on her way out to buy more stain. But her perseverance paid off. I think she's got it!! Let's hope the floor guys do it the way she did.

In anticipation of handing over the house to the floor finishers, the powder room in the indoor outdoor room now has a working toilet. Maybe we should just buy one toilet and move it from room to room as needed.
